Singapore is well known for its hawker centre. Almost every part of the city, HDB, or office centre, there are hawker centers. With affordable price, you can find various food both local and other international foods include Padang, Malay, Korea, western and japanese food. Due to affordable price and convenience offered, many people rely on hawker centre for feeding himself on daily basis.

Today, I would like to introduce Golden Mile Food centre which locate at beach road. People who frequently take the bus to KL, or other part of Malaysia from Golden Mile complex or Keypoint must be aware of this food court centre. The location of the golden mile food centre is also well known as little Thailand in Singapore. You will be easily find Thai writing for the shop name surrounding, and people talking in Thai. Should you miss Thai food, or looking into Thai something, perhaps you can look into the location here. Or perhaps when you are going to Malaysia by bus, don’t forget to try the Golden mile food centre.

Golden mile food centre is located opposite the Golden mile complex on beach road. It’s three storeys of food court which serves various food available, from the ones which you will normally find in food court of Singapore, ie : Chicken rice, Char shiew rice, laksa, bakcoy mie, etc. When I stroll around the food centre, I find many of interesting food stalls to try, and many of them win some awards or published in the paper for its specialities. The area is also quite big enough to accomodate various type of food.

As Golden mile is located in little Thailand, suddenly I miss Thai food. I am looking for authentic Thai food cooked by Thai people in the area. I find one stall, named Thai experience on the first floor of the food centre.

You can look into your favourite Thai food on this place, from Phad Thai, Green curry, pineapple fried rice, basil rice up to famous Thai desert, mango sticky rice. The stall itself is owned by Thai and you can also find some decoration of Thai especially the praying altar in front of the stall. Most of the food sold is around SGD 4 – 6, quite affordable for type of Thai food, as it’s not easy to find Thai food in the hawker centre especially the one with authentic Thai taste.

For my lunch, I was ordering my favourite Thai food, Phad Thai with Shrimp which cost me for 5 SGD. The portion itself is sufficient for one person and I find the taste itself have the authentic taste of Thai food which I normally have during my trip in Thailand previously.
